As always this term promises to be busy and before we know it we will be starting the Christmas holidays! Yoga We had a very successful first yoga session on the school oval on Tuesday. These sessions are each Tuesday at 8.10am and are funded by the P&C. All students, accompanied by their parent, are welcome to attend. Bring a towel or yoga mat. Dance Our Dance lessons with Dorothy have commenced and will culminate in our Dance Concert on the 28th November at 1.15pm. Interschool Athletics Our Interschool Athletics carnival will be held over two days next Tuesday the 23rd and Wednesday the 24th October. The main carnival is on Wednesday at Bateman Primary School. Look out for more details from Mr Emery. K-2 Christmas celebration and picnic Please mark in your diaries this event. It will kick off at 5pm on Wednesday the 5th December and will involve each year group from Kindy to year 2 performing one or two Christmas songs followed by a family picnic on the school oval. The latest update from the School Board The 20th September Board meeting at Young George was well received with both school parents and staff there to hear the lively debate about our school plan and offer excellent feedback and suggestions. The school plan is should be finalised and endorsed by the school board this term. There was also discussion, clarification and endorsement of the 2019 school fees and charges. SAVE THE DATE!!! DECEMBER 7th E a s t F r e m a n t l e p r i m a r y s c h o o l N e w s 2018 Term Dates TERM 4 School Development Day Monday 8th October - Pupil Free Students return on Tuesday, 9 October 2018 through to Thursday, 13 December Term Dates TERM 1 Students return to school on Monday 4th February 2019 EFPS Bandanna Day Every year another 23,000 young people will be faced with a cancer diagnosis, whether it s their own or a close family member s. CanTeen s Bandanna Day is on Friday 26 October, and we have joined the team to support young people around Australia. Help us make sure that no young person faces cancer by helping us raise valuable funds to provide young people with the specialist care they need to make it through their cancer experience. East Freo will be supporting this great cause next week culminating in CanTeen s National Bandanna Day on Friday 26 October. Students can purchase their Bandannas from the front of the Staffroom each morning from 8:30am to 8:50am and again in the afternoon immediately after the siren till 3:20pm. They may then wear their new Bandanna on the Friday. Bandannas are $5.00 to purchase. All funds raised will go directly to CanTeen. *Students are also welcome to wear their own Bandanna on the Friday but must bring a Gold Coin donation to support this great cause. Details as follows: Day 1: Field Events - Tuesday 23 October, 2018 Bateman PS 12.00pm 3.00pm Day 2: Track Events Wednesday 24 October, 2018 Bateman PS am 3.00pm Students require; school uniform, appropriate footwear, water bottle, nutritious snack, and cut lunch. Training will be held on Tuesday morning (Wk 2) from 8.15am. Training is non-compulsory! And for the first time, our students will be competing in our new Interschool Sports Shirt. If we can perform even half as well as we look, we should be taking that trophy home...
